The greatest show on earth
Our astronomy tours seek out exceptional places to watch the skies. In Iceland, that means watching for the aurora through the long winter nights, away from the city lights.
In Tenerife, it means Teide National Park, more than 2,000 metres above sea level beneath wonderfully clear, dark skies. A visit to the Teide Observatory at Izaña offers the chance to observe the Sun through specialist solar telescopes, while evening observing sessions explore galaxies, nebulae and star clusters.
And on 2 August 2027, Egypt offers the chance to witness one of the longest total solar eclipses of the century. Totality reaches a maximum of six minutes and 23 seconds, with our tours watching from carefully chosen sites near Luxor or Marsa Alam.
On our Iceland and Tenerife tours, you travel with astronomer Pete Lawrence, a presenter on the BBC’s The Sky at Night, whose enthusiasm and expertise help bring the wonders above you into focus.
